MOESIA INFERIOR, Marcianopolis. Gordian III. AD 238-244. Æ Pentassarion (28mm, 13.60 g). Tullius Menophilus, consular legate. Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gordian III right, vis à vis draped bust of Sarapis left / VΠ ΜΗΝΟΦΙΛOV MA-PKIANOΠΟΛΙ−Τ/Ω/Ν, Apollo Lycceius standing facing, head right, holding bow in left hand, right hand on head, quiver draped with clothes left, serpent entwined around stump of tree right; E in left field. AMNG I 1130; SNG Copenhagen 255; SNG Budapest 264; Varbanov 1947. Near VF, black patina with some spots of green, rough surfaces.
